The Sunshine State

My Trip To Florida

Over April break (April 14-21), my family and I took a trip to Florida. Florida, nicknamed the Sunshine State, is a warm, tropical state on the south-eastern coast of America. We flew in on Saturday evening, April 14th, and immediately after we went to a family function. The next day, we went to a baby shower in Tampa, Florida. On Monday, we checked into the resort that we were staying at, Westgate Vacation Villas. That same day, my aunt and uncle from Jacksonville, FL drove in, and they also checked into the resort. We just drove around town and the resort, enjoying the rest of the warm day. As we soon noticed, the resort was humongous.   It was so big, it had its own Town Hall! On Tuesday, we woke up early in order to arrive at one of the highlights of our trip: Epcot. We got in as it opened, at 9:00 AM, and stayed there for 12 hours, until it closed at 9:00 PM. We made sure to go on every ride. The best part of Epcot was the famous Soarin'. Soarin' is a hang-gliding simulation, imitating the effect of flying over the state of California. You sit on a long bench, and they suspend you in the air. The giant, concave screen in front of you makes the entire scene look real. And to top it all off, the smell of everything you pass, and the wind in your face make it an unforgettable experience. After that, on Wednesday, we drove for 2 hours back to Jacksonville, where we met my older cousin, who is a college student. We spent 2 days there, before flying back home on Thursday. Our Florida trip is definitely a trip that I will never forget, and I hope to go back there someday.
