All About Me

           ALL ABOUT ME

I am on a Swim Team
by RC Fotos

My name is Kairav and I am an eighth grader. I live in the USA. My family includes my loving parents and my caring older brother. My brother, Kaarish, is in 9th grade. My parents were born in India, and were the first generation of their family to move to America. They have been here for 20 years now. I also have two pet parakeets, Topaz and Blossom. Some of my hobbies are reading, karate, and swimming. I am a blue belt in Kempo Defense Systems. I am also on a Swim Team. I have learned how to scuba dive and snorkel, proving how much I love the water. I won the Statewide Spelling Bee in 6th grade.
I play the violin
by Steve Snodgrass
I play the violin in the middle school string ensemble (orchestra). I have been playing the violin for 5 years. I started playing in 4th grade, and have played ever since. I have performed in several concerts. Some other instruments in the string ensemble include the viola, cello, and double bass. I also play the keyboard/ piano. I took lessons 2 years ago. Now I print my own music and figure out how to play the songs.
I listen to pop music, mainly on the radio. My favorite song is "One More Night," by Maroon 5. I like pop music because it is very cheerful and can always get you singing when you are in a bad mood. I also like to listen to Hindi music, because I am Indian. Hindi music is different, because most every song is from a movie. Movies in Bollywood always have 4-6 songs, where people dance to the beat. They are kind of like music videos, but in the movie.
Most of the time, I don't really like eating, but I love eating any homemade food. Normally I don't like pizza (I know, surprising), but when my mom makes it, I love it! I especially love desserts, such as cheesecake or creme brulee. Anywhere I go, I may not eat the main course, but I will definitely eat dessert. It is always the best part of the meal.
I want to be a surgeon
I believe that if you enjoy yourself every day, you will stay happy. In other words, your mind will stay clear if you are not always stressed or worrying about something. You should always play games with your family, or watch some T.V. to calm yourself.
I want to be a doctor or a scientist when I grow up. I would be a good doctor because I do well in "messy" situations. I can concentrate even if I see blood or bones, unlike some people who get nauseous. I would also be a good scientist because I am always thinking of new experiments to do in different situations. I look forward to a new problem thrown at me. I can also stay focused in many confusing situations.
I would like to be known for being a caring person. I want people to think of me, and think about how I am a nice person. I believe that kindness is the most important trait anyone can have. Even the richest man is not the kindest, and not the nicest. I think even a poor man can be caring on the inside, and should be treated with more respect than a rich, selfish person.
I do not think I could do without my parents. Without them, I would not be here, first of all, but secondly, I would not be who I am today. I would not be a smart, caring person without my parents being there to guide me along the way.  Also, my parents are always there to listen to me when I have a problem. No matter what the situation, my parents are there to help me out.
If I had the ability, I would change people's greed for not only money, but for a better life than they already have. Even a happy family always would want more. You can't help it, it is just a human quality that's not always helpful. Sometimes that can lead to depression, because people get angry with themselves for doing things that even they couldn't have controlled, and wishing to have not done so. So if it was possible, I would minimize people's greed.
What is different about the human brain?
I want to know more about why the human brain can comprehend things easier than any other animal. For instance, why can't monkeys do algebra, or elephants build skyscrapers? Why are humans so technologically advanced, when gorillas (our supposed "ancestors") live in trees? That is something to wonder about...
