The Death of a World Famous Director

Courtesy of ABC News.com
Tony Scott, the director and producer of many movies and TV shows, including Top Gun, Days of Thunder, and The Hunger, just recently jumped off a bridge into the Los Angeles harbor, taking his own life. The world around is wondering why such a great director would do this. Many witnesses who filmed this catastrophe thought, at first, that someone was doing an acrobatic leap. Only after the body came afloat did the word spread that it was actually such a famous icon killing himself. According to the Guardian newspaper, the 68 year old man had very meticulously planned his death, strategically leaving detailed notes, phone numbers, and contacts in his car and office. Also, the director leaped off the very same bridge that he had planned to use in a remake of the 1970 movie The Warriors. The New York Daily News correctly states that this man had everything to live for: a flourishing career as a director and producer, the company that he co-owned with his brother, Scott Free production, and a wife and 2 sons. Tom Cruise, a very good friend of Scott, was mourning his death, and said that "Tony was my dear friend and I will miss him..." The world shall always remember this legendary director and producer, and will forever mourn his suicidal death.
